Even Jesus got angry, but the only time was when the Holy Temple was made into a "Den of theives" he flipped the tables and hearded the animals out. But when they beat him to a point that you couldn't tell if he was "Man or Beast" and they put nails in his hands, he cried out through labored gasps for air "FATHER! FORGIVE THEM! FOR THEY KNOW! NOT! WHAT THEY DO!"
Which shows us that we should never be angry when somebody harms us, but only when their is something that is "An Abomination to God"

Boy, have you hit on a HOT topic!! I Corinthians 13:4-64Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
(NIV) Ephesians 4:26-2725Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body. 26"In your anger do not sin"[1] : Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27and do not give the devil a foothold.
(NIV) James 1:19-21[/19My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. 21Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
b] (NIV)
Colossians 3:7-9
7You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices (NIV)
Exodus 4:13-15
13 But Moses said, "O Lord, please send someone else to do it." 14 Then the LORD's anger burned against Moses and he said, "What about your brother, Aaron the Levite? I know he can speak well. He is already on his way to meet you, and his heart will be glad when he sees you. 15 You shall speak to him and put words in his mouth; I will help both of you speak and will teach you what to do. (NIV)
Numbers 14:18
'The LORD is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation.' (NIV)

Having posted all that...let me say that I do agree that we shouldn't get angry but do know that we DO GET ANGRY and sometimes VERY ANGRY and often out of very selfish motivation.
Jesus displays the emotion of anger.
God displays the emotion of anger.
We, created in the image of God, display the emotion of anger.
Let us not deny the ANGER within ourselves, it is normal and part of our Godly makeup...He put it there! So often I see Christians putting on a "forgiving" front while denying their festering anger. A festering anger that will eventually come out...one way or another. We are taught to believe that to be angry is unchristian, ungodly...when it is NOT! We, if we are honest, struggle with anger and feel guilty for it. Guilty for something that the Lord has placed in us? Guilty for the way the Lord has created us?
So where do we fail with this anger issue?
We fail when we deny it and pretend it doesn't exist. We fail when we try to not be angry when we are. We fail when we rely on our own resources to get rid of anger.
Anger can only be removed by the Lord. His Spirit is the only One who can renew our thinking and our attitudes. Giving Him our anger, asking that He change our heart is the only way to release and free us from misplaced anger.
And what is an abominition to the Lord? Are abominations only found in structures? temples? churches? Isn't the church the actual physical Body of believers? If so, then shouldn't our anger be towards any wrong done to those within the Body? And aren't we a part of the Body?
Discernment...Jesus knew when to stand and when to bend to the will of His Father. We need to seek discernment in this as well and not simply roll over and play dead. Otherwise we will have more "door mat" Christians. And we might as well put up the armor of God that we are commanded to wear...won't need it if we roll over and play dead all the time!
